About us

How YISHU INSIGHT researches, edits, and publishes writing on the I Ching and Zi Wei Dou Shu.

Who we are

YISHU INSIGHT (易数洞察) is an independent studio in Japan. Since 2026, we have been building AI-assisted tools for I Ching divination and Zi Wei Dou Shu. The studio's work is concerned with making difficult traditional systems legible without flattening their history or presenting them as infallible prediction. We work across software, explanatory writing, and source review, with attention to wording, provenance, and the difference between a text's historical setting and a modern application. Our software and articles are research and learning projects: they help readers compare a classical framework with the circumstances of a present question, while leaving judgment and responsibility with the person using them. We do not claim that an algorithm can settle questions that require human or professional judgment.

How the articles are made

Our editorial work is grounded in the Zhouyi, the Ten Wings, the Zi Wei Dou Shu classics, and traditional commentaries. We begin by locating the relevant passage, term, or interpretive tradition, then draft an explanation for a contemporary reader. Where translations differ, we preserve the original wording or explain the choice rather than hiding the disagreement. AI may assist with organization, translation checks, and first drafts; every published article is reviewed and edited by our editorial team. Quotations are taken only from the classics. Modern examples are written as examples, not as historical evidence or promises about an individual reader's future. Readers should be able to tell which statements come from a source and which are editorial synthesis.

Editorial policy

We cite the classical line being interpreted whenever an article turns on a specific line or passage. We distinguish the classical reading from our own explanation, and we label modern business or workplace stories as illustrative. We avoid invented quotations, anonymous claims presented as scholarship, and language that implies certainty about a person's fate. If we find an error, we correct the page and clarify the change where useful. These materials are not medical, legal, or financial advice, and divination should not replace qualified professional help or a person's own careful decisions.
